Privacy Policy
This page is ready for product review. It will become effective when Beam is publicly released.
The short version
Beam is provided by Hangzhou Flourish Network Technology Co., Ltd (“Beam,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). Beam’s launch version works locally on your iPhone. It requires no Beam account, contains no advertising or tracking technology, and does not send recordings, transcripts, meeting details, People profiles, or searches to a Beam-operated server.
Information Beam handles on your device
Depending on how you use the app, Beam may store the following in its protected app container:
- audio you record or import;
- transcripts, timing, titles, participants, context, and important terms;
- markers, highlight notes, and Decision, Action, or Question labels;
- scheduled meetings and linked Calendar event identifiers;
- local People entries, aliases, Vocabulary Sets, model choices, and preferences;
- processing state, requested export files, and verified purchase status.
This information supports recording, playback, on-device transcription, search, scheduling, organization, and export. Beam does not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Microphone and on-device transcription
Beam requests microphone access only for a microphone check or recording. Transcription uses Apple-provided on-device speech capabilities. Apple may download or release language-model assets selected on your iPhone. Beam does not send the recording or its meeting context to a Beam server for launch-version transcription.
Imported audio
When you choose a file through Apple’s document picker, Beam receives temporary access to inspect and copy that file into protected app storage. Beam does not modify or delete the original and does not retain broad access to the document provider.
Apple Contacts and Calendar
Contact exchange is optional and initiated by you. Beam imports only contacts you select and opens an Apple contact card for your review when exporting. Calendar access is optional and used only when you choose to link a scheduled meeting. Beam does not continuously read, upload, or synchronize your address book or unrelated calendar events.
Purchases
Lifetime Pro purchases are processed by Apple. Beam does not receive payment-card details and reads only Apple’s verified purchase status to unlock eligible features.
Exports and sharing
When you request an export, Beam creates a local copy for the iOS share sheet. You choose the destination. After a file leaves Beam, that destination’s privacy practices and your sharing decisions apply.
Collection, analytics, and tracking
The launch version has no advertising SDK, third-party analytics SDK, cross-app tracking, production cloud transcription, cloud summary, CRM synchronization, or full multi-device meeting-sync service. Beam does not sell personal information.
Retention and deletion
Local meeting content remains until you delete it or remove the app. Deleting a meeting removes its Beam-managed audio, transcript, processing data, and derived export files. Separately exported files, Apple Contacts or Calendar entries, App Store purchase history, and Apple-managed model assets remain under your or Apple’s control.
Security and recording responsibility
Beam uses iOS sandboxing and file-protection classes appropriate to local recording and background operation. No storage system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for the rights and permissions required to record, transcribe, store, and share a conversation under applicable law.
Children
Beam is not directed to children under the minimum age required to consent to data processing in their location.
Changes
We may update this policy as Beam or applicable obligations change. If a future version adds cloud processing or analytics, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosure will be updated before release.
